Adeline is a second-year student at Barnard College double majoring in environmental science and sociology. On campus, she edits for Consilience: the Columbia University Journal of Sustainable Development, and she is part of the Columbia Sunrise Movement. Adeline is also interested in international environmental policy, and she is passionate about sustainability as it relates to all aspects of politics and civic engagement.

Lunia Oriol, University of Michigan
Lunia Oriol is a senior at the University of Michigan pursuing a BSE in Climate and Meteorology with a concentration in Climate Science and Impacts. Her passion for sustainability and community engagement stems from her experience growing up in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley, Alaska. Lunia is an active volunteer for the university chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby promoting actionable climate legislation and a brass player in the Michigan Marching Band. Studying climate science while regularly engaging in environmental advocacy and local government has shaped Lunia’s interest in informing and engaging others about crucial issues from a nonpartisan standpoint. Outside of academics, Lunia enjoys playing music, doing puzzles, listening to podcasts, and studying food literacy.

Anusha Mehta, University of Chicago
Anusha Mehta grew up in Dallas, TX and is now a freshman at the University of Chicago majoring in molecular engineering. She serves on her House Council as secretary and green czar, in addition to connecting with her heritage as a part of the South Asian Student Association’s membership committee. In her free time, she enjoys searching for the best hot chocolate in Chicago and writing short stories.
She joined the ACE team due to her passion for both healthcare and environmental policy. She became passionate about environmental policy after learning about the health impacts caused by the lack of transparency about what is contained in our products. In addition, her own experiences with chronic pain motivates her to campaign for affordable, accessible healthcare. She believes that greater community engagement is and will be essential to creating change.

Jordan Manley, University of Michigan
Jordan (she/her/hers) is a sophomore at the University of Michigan studying Environmental Science with a specialization in Environmental Policy. Her goal is to help businesses and communities become more sustainable by transforming policies related to energy, transportation, housing, and agriculture. While at Michigan, Jordan has worked on sustainability projects ranging from urban farming to clean energy research to helping an environmental consulting firm fight against the Line 5 oil pipeline. She hopes to continue her environmental research and advocacy with ACE and her local Citizens’ Climate Lobby chapter in Ohio. During her free time, Jordan loves hiking, reading, and listening to music.

Cynthia Ma, Boston College
Cynthia Ma is a second-year at Boston College majoring in Environmental Studies. Originally from Shanghai, China, she went to high school in Southern California and now has moved to Massachusetts. Her first-hand experience with urban air pollution sparked her passion in environmental protection. She believes that public policy is the most powerful tool to address environmental issues. Thus, she is interested in the intersection between environmental policy and foreign policy, specifically international cooperation for environmental solutions. At ACE, she hopes that she could advance her research and inform more people about environmental policies at stake. At Boston College, Cynthia is a choreographer and dancer for UPrising Dance Crew, a hip-hop dance team that participates in campus-wide and regional competitions. She is versatile with her movements and is always trying to explore new dance styles.

Grace Lee, University of Chicago
Grace Lee is a third-year student at the University of Chicago double majoring in Environmental and Urban Studies and Global Studies with a minor in Human Rights. Originally from Southern California, she hopes to combine her love for the environment with her passion for communication in order to advocate for a more sustainable future. Grace is especially interested in clean energy, urban agriculture, and sustainable fashion. On campus, she is involved with the Phoenix Sustainability Initiative, the MODA lifestyle blog, and the Korean Students Organization. In her free time, she enjoys solving crossword puzzles, editing videos, and planning her future vacations.

Vedika Himatsingka, Pitzer College
Vedika Himatsingka is an undergraduate student at Pitzer College, majoring in Economics and Environmental Policy and Justice. She recently interned with WWF India and helped with research on Plastic Waste Management for Extended corporate producers’ responsibility. She also joined the Climate Reality network, led by former Vice President Al Gore, where she was trained in ways to become a Climate Leader. Her interests include climate change research, sustainability advocacy, environment policy research and reforms. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, listening to music, and watching movies.
She is excited to be a part of ACE and wants to bring an environmentally driven perspective to the team. She hopes to take away a better understanding of institutional political engagement and ways in which the youth can actively make a difference.

Daniel Gonzalez, Indiana University
Daniel Gonzalez is a Masters of Public Affairs Candidate at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN studying Environmental Policy and Natural Resource Management. He is interested in the ways federal and state policies can be used to build a sustainable relationship between people and the environment. Daniel has experience working in the non-profit and local government sectors and has research experience in environmental justice.

Stella Dziales, Boston University
Stella grew up in Jamaica Plain, Boston and is now a freshman at Boston University studying International Relations and Environmental Policy. She enjoys writing and research, and contributes to the BU International Relations Review as a Staff Writer, focusing mainly on global environmental issues. In her free time Stella likes to spend time outdoors, whether hiking, skiing, sailing, running, or rowing. She cares deeply about nature and environmental conservation, and hopes that her work can contribute to a more sustainable future.

Lelia Durand, Case Western Reserve University
Lelia Durand grew up in Potomac, MD and is now a third-year undergraduate at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), pursuing a double major in international studies and economics and a minor in Chinese. At CWRU, Lelia is involved in Kids Against Hunger, an on-campus organization dedicated to reducing hunger insecurity in the greater Cleveland area, and is a contributing news reporter to the CWRU Observer. In her free time, Lelia enjoys reading, watching TV, and spending time with friends.
Lelia is especially interested in U.S.-China relations and China’s foreign and domestic policy. Her research interests include China’s economic growth, potential pathways to carbon neutrality, and the influence of the Chinese Communist Party. Additionally, she is intrigued by how China’s evolving attitude toward environmental protection may impact America’s position as a global leader.
Lelia joined ACE because she is concerned about the amount of misinformation on key voting issues. As a student fellow, she hopes to spread awareness about ACE’s resources and better inform voters about climate change and the economy.
