Jacqueline Hermanto, University of California-San Diego

Jacqueline is a rising junior majoring in Public Health specializing in Health Policy and Management and minoring in Political Science and Finance at the University of California, San Diego. She is interested in the impacts of health policy on nutrition and chronic diseases, primarily obesity and diabetes. Her interest in nutrition and chronic diseases stemmed from the common misconceptions and misunderstandings regarding nutrition’s relationship to chronic diseases that she encounters daily. Jacqueline is a dedicated advocate for health equity and is an active member of the Health Promotions Services branch of UCSD Health, working as an Undergraduate Student Assistant at a well-being lounge on campus. In addition, she loves to volunteer as a Well-Being Peer Educator on campus, particularly facilitating therapy fluffies and tabling for events. Outside of classes and work, spending time with her family and friends, reading, writing, exploring new topics, and walking around Gliderport at sunset relaxes her from daily stressors.
