Fares Marzouk, Pomona College

Fares is a junior at Pomona College studying economics and computer science. 

Born and raised in a diverse community, Fares developed a keen awareness of the social and economic disparities that exist within cities and their impact on marginalized populations. This awareness motivates him to delve into the intricacies of immigrant experiences, housing policy,  and urban development.

Fares is fascinated by the intersections between city design, public transportation, and community development, striving to create sustainable and inclusive urban spaces that foster economic growth and social equity.

Moreover, Fares has a strong interest in immigration policy, recognizing the vital contributions immigrants make to societies and economies. He seeks to understand and address the challenges faced by immigrant communities, advocating for comprehensive immigration reform that upholds human rights and facilitates integration.

Driven by his intellectual curiosity and commitment to social justice, Fares aspires to leverage his interdisciplinary studies in economics and computer science to analyze complex societal issues and implement effective policies that promote equitable and prosperous communities.
