Aidan Flynn completed his undergraduate studies Political Science and International Studies and is in his final year as an MPA student at the University of Alabama with a strong research interest in rural community development, federal and state government cooperation, and the strategies of foreign diplomacy in improving international relations. His academic path emphasizes a pursuit to understand how government institutions influence both community development and quality of life for individuals. His personal experiences with the education system, education abroad, and long-standing interest in politics inspired him to pursue a career in public service. Beyond academics, Aidan volunteers as an English teacher with the non-profit Paper Airplanes, which seeks to provide English tutoring to people impacted by the Syrian and Ukrainian conflicts. Aidan is actively involved in initiatives as a committee leader in the University of Alabama Honors College Assembly that creates places of discussion to encourage political and cultural engagement between students on campus. Additionally, he enjoys spending time hiking outdoors, spending time with family in Houston, Texas, and cooking.
