Elliot is a 4th year undergraduate student at UC Berkeley studying English and ethnic studies. Throughout their undergraduate career, Elliot has interned with immigration nonprofits and grassroots organizations. Their primary research interests include economic barriers to immigration, spatial organization once immigrants arrive in the U.S., and domestic violence cases' impacts on immigration status. Their father immigrated to the U.S. in the '90s, and Elliot hopes to continue to grow familiar with policy initiatives that helped him thrive in the U.S. Elliot plans to attend law school in the next three years, intending to become an immigration attorney or a public defender. At Berkeley, Elliot is the Internal Affairs Director of the Queer Alliance Resource Center, where they lead the board of directors, co-chair meetings with the Vice Chancellors, manage thousands of dollars of funding, and organize large-scale events. Elliot hopes to use these leadership and organization skills throughout their career in law, particularly to enact lasting positive changes in their clients' lives. Elliot also completed their thesis a year early and was accepted to present at the 2026 LGBTQ+ Research Symposium at Kansas University. Their research included historical, media, interview, and survey analysis into university resource centers and their differential political engagements. Outside of work, Elliot loves to figure skate and hang out with their cat, Moe.
