Amy L. Wong is a graduate student at Northwestern pursuing a Master of Science in Journalism with a specialization in Politics, Policy, and Foreign Affairs. She graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and History with a minor in Education Studies. At the Daily Bruin, Wong wrote about California labor law and a proposed 2024 ballot measure that aimed to repeal and replace the state’s Private Attorneys General Act.
At ACE, Wong was previously a Democratic Governance Policy Fellow, an Environmental Policy Fellow, and a Public Health Policy Fellow.
Wong enjoys writing about a wide range of topics, including politics, policy, public health, the environment, law, literature, music, films, and transportation. In her free time, she writes poetry, flash fiction pieces, and short stories. She finished drafting her novel in May 2026.
U.S. News & World Report, NPR Illinois, Capitol News Illinois, Medill News Service, the Daily Bruin, and The Daily Northwestern have published her journalism work. Pacific Ties Newsmagazine, In Our Nature Magazine, and Precipice Magazine have published her creative work.
Wong is passionate about improving American democracy through reporting, policy research & analysis, and nonpartisan youth voter engagement. She is studying to become a journalist, policy analyst, public service-oriented attorney, professor, and author.
After earning a Master of Science in Journalism, Wong plans to pursue graduate degrees in law, public policy, politics, education, public affairs, history, and creative writing.
