Adam Hussein is an undergraduate student at the University of Maryland, College Park, studying Computer Science with intended minors in Art History.His interest in technology policy began during his sophomore year after joining UMD’s delegation to the Maryland Student Legislature. Through this experience, he extended his passion for data-driven analytics and machine learning to policy work. During this time, Adam engaged with issues such as transparency in computer-generated evidence and expanding equitable broadband access across Maryland. In a time where misconceptions about the internet and artificial intelligence are increasingly common, Adam hopes to help bridge the gap between technology and policy.
Adam is also deeply interested in the role technology can play in environmental preservation. He aims to push for increased access to environmentally sustainable technologies while reducing waste and the unintended consequences of rapid technological advancement. Outside of the classroom, Adam enjoys visiting art museums and trying new restaurants with friends and family.
