Hannah Williams is a class of 2026 student at Wellesley College, studying Japanese, and International Relations with a focus in Political Science. Motivated by her mixed military Japanese-Black background, she is passionate about US-Japan affairs, East Asia studies and comparative politics to bring multi-faceted perspectives into transnational relations analysis. She is a current Pipeline Fellow at Women of Color Advancing Peace, Security and Conflict Transformation (WCAPS) through which she aims to analyze the relationship between AI and violence against women of color.
Recently, she was an intern at Sasakawa Peace Foundation USA focusing on US-Japan AI frontiers and cybersecurity alliances, and rap as a diverse vessel for Japanese soft power. Additionally, she studied abroad at International Christian University in Tokyo, Japan centering on language, environmentalism and cultural psychology. Exploring her love of writing as a tool for information sharing, she was a DIS student blogger writing content for prospective and current students studying abroad in Denmark as well as was an intern at the US-Japan Council focusing on Japanese American history.
Outside of academics and work, Hannah enjoys reading speculative fiction with her two-person book club, talking during movies with friends, and theater.
