Tim Hunter was born and raised in Cambridge MA, and now attends Bates College. He is entering his senior year as an American Studies major. As a child of a Thai immigrant, Tim grew up working in his mothers restaurant making sure that customers were eating well. Those experiences introduced Tim to many immigrants of different backgrounds working at the restaurant which has contributed to his enthusiasm for studying immigration. At Bates, Tim plays on the Rugby team after picking up the sport as a first-year. Tim has worked on improving voter engagement around his campus, and helped elect the first Somali-American city council woman in the U.S. For fun, Tim enjoys rock climbing, cooking and spending time with friends.
