Sonia Stadler is an undergraduate student at the University of Chicago majoring in Global Studies and planning on pursuing a joint Masters in Russian and East European Studies with a minor in Human Rights or History. She is a member of the Public Policy Leaders Program and intends to go to law school and pursue a career in international law or national security. Her undergraduate research so far has focused on the relationship between Soviet Russia and Ukraine and government censorship in Russia. Her areas of interest are human rights and organized crime in authoritarian regimes, and she is currently studying cyber crime in Eastern Europe. Outside of class she is a harpist in the UChicago Symphony Orchestra and loves language learning, creative writing, country music, and cycling.
