Pamela Nwakakwa is a first-year Master of Public Health student at the George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health with a concentration in Health Policy. She graduated from the University of Miami with a BS in Biology in 2021. At first, she wanted to be a doctor, but soon realized that it was not where her passion truly lied. She found that she liked the broader impact that public health has on the community and society as opposed to clinical health which is about working one on one with patients. She is interested in health policy because it involves making decisions and actions to achieve certain health goals, and hopes to pursue a career in policy analysis. In her classes at GWU, she has learned how to write policy memos, conduct statistical analyses, and write an analytic research paper. During her free time, she likes to hang out with her friends, eat at restaurants, and watch movies.
