Ms. Paige Lane completed three years at The Kent School (Kent, CT) before completing her high school education at Fusion Academy in San Francisco, CA. She is currently a rising sophomore at the University of Virginia where she majors in Mathematics and Economics with a minor in Public Policy. She balances this with her time as a NCAA Division I Athlete on the Women’s Crew team. Her passions are community service and aiding others in need. As a San Francisco native that has first hand knowledge of the impact of homelessness, Paige is eager to find solutions that will provide individuals with affordable housing and a more sustainable lifestyle. As Paige has witnessed homeless individuals struggle to afford food and housing on a daily basis she has envisioned methods for more efficient allocation of San Francisco resources to ameliorate this problem. Paige is set on pursuing a career in government to create policies that will reduce the burden of rising living costs on those who are most vulnerable. This includes doing extensive research on policy prescriptions that will alleviate poverty and aid in job creation. Paige’s experiences in leadership and experience demonstrate this interest. Additionally, through activities such as the Roosevelt Society and Jack and Jill of San Francisco, Paige continues to gain valuable knowledge that she can harness in future career prospects.
