Mia Harris is a recent graduate from Tulane University, where she triple majored in English, Africana Studies, and Political Science. She graduated near the top of her class and completed an honor’s thesis which earned her the distinction of “Senior Honors Scholar” from the Africana Studies department. Her primary research interests are African women’s political participation, gender rights, sexual violence, and the representation of gender roles. She is an incoming Masters of Science student at the University of Oxford where she will continue her research interests by attaining a degree in African Studies. She also enjoys creative pursuits like reading and writing and is in the process of crafting an Afro-futurist screenplay inspired by her research.
