Matthew Hohman is a Junior at Virginia Tech from Richmond, Virginia. He is majoring in economics and minoring in data & decisions, and political science. Beginning in high school, he was a part of the Humanities Specialty Center at Monacan High School where he was first introduced to the social science disciplines. Ultimately, what lead him to his interdisciplinary course of studies is his interest in the intersection between the economic and business field, and the policy and government field. This past fall semester he worked as a First Year Economics Student Mentor at Virginia Tech, where he worked hands-on with students to guide and mentor them through the economics curriculum and coursework. He is currently the treasurer for the Economics Club at Virginia Tech. This role has provided him with experience in managing finances and the opportunity to host guest speakers to learn directly from leaders in both the private and public sectors.
