Maria Mercado (she/her) was born in Miami, Florida, then lived in Madrid, Spain, and attended high school in Brookline, Massachusetts. Maria is currently a rising Sophomore at Hamilton College, where she is studying government. After learning about ACE’s nonpartisan mission, she was excited to get involved. With ACE, Maria hopes to expand her research and writing skills. She is excited to further learn and bring awareness to criminal justice reform and encourage young voters to participate in upcoming elections. Maria also plays on the Women’s basketball team at Hamilton, and enjoys staying active, reading, and listening to music.
