Maria is a third year student at Duke University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations. On campus, she dedicates her time to writing and editing for various student publications in addition to competing on Duke’s Moot Court Team, for which she has won multiple awards. Maria has also completed various fellowships and internships for legal nonprofits, gaining valuable experience in the field of human rights, refugee assistance, and immigration law. These experiences sparked her interest in policy work, encouraging her to pursue a legal career through which she can create meaningful policy initiatives and changes.
