Lauren is originally from Baltimore, Maryland until she relocated to Tucson, Arizona to complete her undergraduate studies. While at the University of Arizona, Lauren studied Political Science and International Relations and minored in Spanish. Her studies were aimed to allow her to travel the world and understand the intricate experiences of people from all cultures. She plans to one day live and work abroad to continue to develop her understanding of people on a global scale. The ACE fellowship is one of Laurens’s ways to be involved in creating meaningful writing that can make a positive impact on her community. Her love of writing was developed while working at the University of Arizona’s student-run newspaper and created a passion she hopes to continue to pursue. In addition to reading and writing, one of Lauren’s top hobbies currently includes learning new languages for her upcoming travel destinations. She feels that it is a key tool in creating genuine openness to understanding different global perspectives.
