Kia Fatahi is a recent graduate from Fordham University majoring in International Studies (concentration in Global Affairs) with a minor in Economics. Kia has extensive experience in researching Asia, particularly Japan and Korea. His current areas of interest pertains to the East Asian region: modern Japanese history, Zainichi Korean literature and culture, North Korean studies, and Japan-Korea relations. In 2021, he conducted ethnographic research about Zainichi Koreans in Tokyo, Japan, reporting first-hand accounts of their lives in mainstream Japanese society. In addition, he also dedicates his time to tutoring foreign languages to Japanese natives and English-speaking high school students. He is excited to utilize his recent interest in Asian politics, history and current foreign affairs to bring fresh new insights about underrepresented issues in the East Asian and Southeast Asian region.
