Kate Davignon is a junior at Syracuse University from Medfield, Massachusetts. She is a double major studying Geography and International Relations with a minor in Spanish. Specifically within IR, she is studying international political economy in Europe. Kate found her interest in her majors from learning about climate change and foreign relations. She likes understanding why things happen in a specific location and the significance of location. In the near future, she will be working on her honors thesis and capstone projects, pertaining to climate change in Europe. For her thesis, she will be looking at why Denmark’s climate efforts have been so successful and if those tactics can apply to the rest of the world. In terms of other academic organizations, Kate is a member of Syracuse University’s Renée Crown Honors Program, as well as the geography honors society Gamma Theta Upsilon. This semester, Kate is serving as an English conversation group facilitator for international students.
