Jaya Sood is originally from Berkeley, California, and is now a first-year Political Science and Economics double major at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her primary interest is in preventing crime and poverty through improving social programs and educational policy. At UCSB, she is on the executive board of the Human Rights Watch club and serves as an editor for their quarterly newsletter. In her spare time, she likes to play volleyball, read at the beach, and spend time with friends and family. After college, she would like to attend law school and work in public policy or become a public defender. She is excited to join the ACE team and learn more about research throughout the process of sharing unbiased and engaging information.
