Eric Jackson is a research associate at ACE and leads the Human Rights & Equality Team. In this role, he and his team produce non-partisan, accessible policy briefs for publication on the ACE website and in the ACE Quarterly Journal.
Eric is a recent graduate from the University of Virginia with a degree in Political Philosophy, Policy, and Law. He also holds two minors: one in French and one in Public Policy. At UVA, Eric was on the executive board of the Black Student Alliance, served as the Vice Chair of Candidates for the University Board of Elections, and volunteered as a mentor for the Early Visions Program with the Boys and Girls Club of Charlottesville. In his free time Eric likes to read, play sports with his friends, and listen to and play music.
Eric joined ACE because he believes that voting and political engagement are powerful tools that citizens can use, but there are often barriers to using one’s political agency. He believes that the individuals who are affected by injustices and inequalities should be the ones shaping the policies that will eventually end them. Eric thinks that ACE can help do this through informing and politically enfranchising citizens.
