Elijah Meltzer is a rising sophomore at Stanford University, originally from New York City. He is a prospective Political Science Major, with an interest in policy work. Elijah has spent much of his academic career focusing on Election law, voter suppression, and election reform. He has led campaigns to educate his peers on these issues and has experience reflecting on policies in a nonpartisan manner. In his first year at Stanford, he engaged in a year-long intensive literature and philosophy program. This program only bolstered his interest in politics and policy by introducing him to a world of political philosophy. Through his work reading thinkers like Karl Marx, John Locke, and Jean-Paul Sartre, he developed a particular interest in labor policy. Elijah is excited to continue engaging with the world of policy through his research this summer and is eager to learn more specifically about American labor policy. Outside of his academic life, Elijah loves playing jazz piano, playing sports like baseball and basketball, and writing short stories!
