Dani Crawford is originally from Kansas City, Missouri and moved to Dallas, Texas 5 years ago. She is currently a graduate student at Concordia University pursuing her master’s degree in public health. She will be graduating in May 2022. Dani is interested in community outreach and serving those in underserved communities. This past semester, Dani wrote a research proposal to shine light on the women of the African American community and how their decisions about their own reproductive health care are affected by their insurance coverage status. She believes improvements in health care will not eliminate social inequalities by itself, but community engagement may make an impact. Dani recently accepted a new position as a Community Outreach Coordinator at UT Southwestern and she is extremely excited to begin working. In her spare time, she enjoys weightlifting, spending time with her sorority sisters, and trying new restaurants.
