Christina Nguyen (she/her/hers) is an incoming second-year undergrad at UC Berkeley who is interested in expanding mental health services for marginalized communities and combatting the existing health inequalities within the current healthcare system. The daughter of war refugees, she is committed to empowering underserved kids and families through inclusive teaching and grassroots advocacy. As an undergraduate student at Cal, she intends to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Public Health, with a minor in Public Policy. This summer, Christina plans to work with ACE to advance Public Health research related to mental health policy for underprivileged minority groups. Particularly, she is interested in the multifaceted intersection between Public Health and Psychology. Aided by trilingual faculties (English, Spanish, Vietnamese), she plans to dedicate her future career to building mental health resiliency in refugee and BIPOC communities. Outside of ACE, she currently serves as Amnesty Youth’s Executive Social Media Manager and is one of Amnesty International’s Student Activist Coordinators. Aside from that, she is involved in the Cal Undergraduate Public Health Commission (UPHC) Minorities in Health Committee, Berkeley Early Learning Lab (BELL), and Berkeley Student-to-Student Peer Counseling (SSPC). In her free time, Christina enjoys spending time with her friends and family, practicing calligraphy, trying new foods, and soaking up the warm sun of her hometown in Southern California.
