Blake Ramsey is a current senior at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia.  He is originally from Hammond, Louisiana, a city roughly forty-five minutes outside of New Orleans.  At Washington and Lee, he majors in both European History and International Relations, focusing especially on revolutionary movements within Europe and Latin America.  Additionally, Blake has researched and written papers on many topical European concepts including the intellectual history of Nazism in the Third Reich, the post-Communism transition to democracy of Albania, Jimmy Carter’s shift in foreign policy including towards the Soviet Union and its satellite states, and the faithfulness of the Bolshevik Revolution to Marxist doctrine.  He looks forward to discussing the USA’ role in Eastern Europe in facilitating the safety and continuing democratization projects of post-Communism states.  Outside of his academic endeavors, Blake enjoys playing and watching basketball, especially watching the New Orleans Pelicans and the Tulane Green Wave.
