Ayla (she/her/hers) is a third-year student at the University of Iowa majoring in Ethics and Public Policy and minoring in Studio Art with a Museum Studies certificate. In her spare time, she volunteers as the Art Director of the Iowa City Sunrise Movement, a group dedicated to mobilizing voters and advocating for environmental policy to help prevent climate collapse. She also works as a line cook in a restaurant.  She believes that healthcare should be accessible to everyone and has seen the way that access to healthcare can be leveraged in a job market to get workers to settle for less than they are worth. She is curious about these kinds of intersections between different policy arenas and through her work with ACE hopes to learn more about the American healthcare system and how it could be made more accessible and effective. In her free time, she enjoys sewing, sculpting, and falling down research rabbit holes.
