Ashton Galloway is a third-year undergraduate student at the University of Central Florida. He is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Emergency Management and Homeland Security. Ashton is also a member of the Burnett Honors College and plans on attending law school upon graduation from his institution. Ashton enjoys playing golf, writing poetry, and reading in his free time. His passion for technology policy stems from his love for philosophy. Inspired by the works of Friedrich Nietzsche in particular, Ashton realized that technology was the “something greater” he had predicted would rule humanity. Today, technology operates beyond good and evil — precisely as Nietzsche predicted, which is why Ashton believes that technology policy will be at the forefront of government for years to come. Through ACE, Ashton will have not only the opportunity to advance his professional career in policy research but also the chance to increase his knowledge of pertinent technology issues.
