Anna Laura Batista is a Brazilian senior at Denison University, majoring in International Studies with a minor in Data for Political Research. Throughout her accomplished college career, she has discovered a particular fascination with understanding the political, economic, and psychological origins of large-scale conflict. From there, she has primarily examined how diplomacy, economic interdependence, and multilateralism can contribute to a more peaceful and stable world. Her interest in technology originates from an exceptionally inquisitive mind, which can only be fulfilled through acquiring knowledge of entirely new topics. Among Tech Policy, Anna enjoys dissecting the implications of artificial intelligence usage in conflict, as well as the boundaries of freedom of speech in the ever-widening digital environment.
She spent her Spring Semester of 2025 in Geneva, Switzerland, where she conducted a study on Brazil’s strategic partnerships after the creation of the BRICS+ bloc, another of her many interests. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, doing her hair, and cooking Brazilian dishes for her roommates.
