Andrew is originally from Mesa, Arizona but was raised in Saint Charles, Illinois. He is currently a Freshman at UCLA, studying Political Science with a minor in Environmental Systems and Society. Andrew’s interest in the environment was sparked in third grade when he took a trip to Nepal to visit family and was in awe of the beauty of the Himalayas while also noticing the trash left on them. He is passionate about protecting natural spaces, clean energy, and reducing plastic pollution. In the future, he hopes to educate others on the critical functions the environment provides to humanity. At UCLA, Andrew is involved with the student organization CALPIRG, a student-led organization focused on urging politicians to create a legislature that protects California’s biodiversity. He recently worked on their campaign to make 30% of California’s oceans protected spaces. He enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing guitar, and writing in his free time.
