Amelia Harrington is a rising junior at Columbia University majoring in political science and minoring in East Asian Studies. She has had work published by the Columbia Policy Journal and is currently a member of the Columbia Political Review and the Columbia Political Union. She has interned for education nonprofits as well as the climate-focused nonprofit Waste Warriors via the Constellations fellowship. She has five years of Japanese knowledge and an interest in progressing further, as well as in refreshing her knowledge of two years of Mandarin. She has used her personal passion for creative writing and the arts to create original content for the internships she participates in, as well as her passion for specific policy areas. She also plans to focus her academic career on East Asian diplomacy both in the larger international system and within the region. This interest stems from a personal history of engagement with East Asian cultures via media and particularly art and music, which she has explored in various research projects. She enjoys writing and playing violin in her free time.
