This April, the Alliance for Citizen Engagement (ACE) is proud to host the first youth-led climate migration conference in the world. Climate migration, or the displacement of people due to environmental processes, is expected to impact tens of millions across every hemisphere and country in the coming decades. The conference will run from April 26 to April 28, 9am-11am ET, and will be entirely virtual. Each day will focus on a different geographic region: Central and Latin America and the Caribbean (April 26), Sub-Saharan Africa (April 27), and the Middle East and North Africa (April 28).

The ACE Climate Migration Conference will be the first time that youth from around the world gather to discuss and increase understanding on this important issue. ACE Student Fellows will present their research alongside climate activists and practitioners from the region of focus. The conference will feature speakers from Chatham House, the Arab Youth Climate Movement, the United Nations Climate Change Conference of Youth, and many more.

The ACE Student Fellows presenting research at the conference include:

  • Ella Dennis, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
  • Sarah Frazer, The George Washington University
  • Aya Kamil, London School of Economics
  • Emma Nargi, University of Virginia
  • Erin Robert, University of New Hampshire
  • Kyle Rogers, University of Albany
  • Jia Williams, University of Virginia
