Vivian is an undergraduate student at New York University in the Presidential Honors Scholars program majoring in Economics and Mathematics. She is also pursuing a minor in Chinese language. She is interested in how government can use technology policy to both promote technological innovation and economic growth while safeguarding against bias and discrimination. Her areas of interest include US-China relations, antitrust policy, and algorithmic fairness.
Vivian is a cofounder and current president of NYU’s first university-wide tech policy club, PETAL. This summer, in addition to serving as a Technology Policy Fellow at ACE, Vivian will be assisting research on algorithmic fairness as a SURF fellow at the American Bar Foundation.
Outside of the classroom, Vivian is involved in various food insecurity initiatives at NYU. She enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, perusing farmer’s markets, playing around with data visualization, and knitting/crochet.
