Lauren Pigott is a Master of Science candidate in Transportation at the University of New Orleans, where her work focuses on transportation equity, active transportation, and the relationship between mobility systems and everyday quality of life. She previously earned a Bachelor of Science in Urban Studies and Planning and was recognized as the program’s Outstanding Undergraduate Student in 2025. Her research experience includes the Tolmas Scholars Program project “Transportation Equity in the New Orleans Gig Economy,” which examined mobility barriers affecting musicians, performers, bartenders, and other hospitality workers, with a focus on transit access, safety, and late-night transportation.
Before returning to university, Lauren spent a decade traveling independently through Europe, South America, Asia, and the United States. Those experiences shaped her interest in infrastructure and transportation systems, particularly the ways mobility networks influence daily life and access to opportunity across different cities and regions.
At ACE, Lauren is serving as a Research Associate for Housing & Transportation Policy, guiding fellows through the research and publication process and helping produce accessible, research-driven policy writing.
Outside of work and school, she enjoys hot yoga, cycling, reading, and spending time exploring New Orleans.
