Rahime Demirci, University of California Berkeley

Rahime Demirci is a student at University of California, Berkeley pursuing a B.A. in Economics with a minor in Public Policy. Her academic interests focus on economics, governance, public policy, and international trade, with coursework in policy analysis and law and policy. Before transferring to Berkeley, she earned an Associate Degree for Transfer in Liberal Arts and Mathematics from MiraCosta College, where she graduated with honors and received recognition including the Presidents Permanent Honor Roll and the Presidential Volunteer Award.
Rahime has been involved in student leadership and advocacy through participation in the Student Senate for California Community Colleges and student government at MiraCosta College. Through these experiences, she developed interests in educational policy, civic engagement, and community advocacy. She has also volunteered as a youth mentor, supporting leadership development and mentorship programs for young students.
Outside of academics and professional interests, Rahime enjoys playing rugby, reading, and spending time with her cat.
