After a successful first year at Colgate University, Lily will continue her undergraduate studies at Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations, where she plans to further explore the intersections of immigration policy, labor rights, and social advocacy. Originally from Italy and having immigrated to the United States in 2022, her academic interests are deeply informed by personal experience and by the belief that, regardless of how politically charged immigration policy may be, it is ultimately everyday people and families who experience its consequences most directly. Thus Lily’s interest in immigration extends beyond academia through her volunteer work with court watching and court accompaniment initiatives in New York City, supporting individuals as they navigate the legal system. Through this work, and by working with ACE, she hopes to contribute to more accessible, humane, and community-centered approaches to policy and legal support. Outside of her academic and volunteer commitments, Lily enjoys anything outdoors, including skiing, hiking, rock climbing, and enjoying live music with friends.
