Anyza Lemus is an undergraduate student at Trinity College, where she is double majoring in Public Policy and Law and American Studies. Her academic interests center on immigration policy, mass incarceration, voting rights, and the ways public policy can better serve historically underrepresented communities. She is particularly interested in the intersection of immigration and criminal justice and hopes to pursue a career in public service and law. Anyza has gained professional experience across government, nonprofit, communications, and civic engagement. She has interned in the office of Congressman John B. Larson, where she worked on constituent services, policy research, and community outreach, and has supported nonprofit advocacy and communications through UnCommon Law. She currently works in Connecticut electoral politics, focusing on student civic engagement, early voting, and voter education. Outside of academics and work, Anyza enjoys staying active, spending time with friends and family, and exploring new places. She has played soccer since childhood and recently began exploring squash and rowing.
