Sydney is a student at Washington University in St. Louis and is majoring in Environmental Analysis with a minor in Spanish. She is highly driven by advancing global climate initiatives that forward an equitable, just future where people and the planet thrive together. She is especially passionate about using sustainable food and agriculture as tools for climate change mitigation.Sydney has always had a deep passion for the natural world and sees sustainability as the intersection of her love for both people and the environment. She is fascinated by the way food systems are often fundamentally unsustainable and inequitable, and she sees restructuring them as a necessary step toward sustainability and climate justice. Sydney’s interest in policy stems from her love for people and the environment, and she sees environmental policy as a way to protect and fight for both. In her free time, Sydney loves playing club field hockey at WashU. She also loves crocheting, trying virtually every form of exercise, convincing her friends to eat her vegetarian cooking, dancing salsa and bachata, and watching sitcoms with anyone who will join her (usually her family).
