Sophia is an undergraduate student at Oregon State University where she is pursuing a major in Public Policy with minors in Statistics and Economics. Her passion for environmental research emerged as an Undergraduate Research Fellow through the Undergraduate Research, Scholarship, & the Arts (URSA) program where she contributed to data collection, analysis, and interpretation for a project on natural gas utility legitimation. Her broader academic interests include energy policy, economic regulation, and the role of government institutions in shaping effective and equitable policy design. She is particularly interested in how data-driven research can inform regulatory decisions. Through her coursework and research experience, Sophia is building a foundation in qualitative and quantitative policy analysis, with the goal of pursuing work that bridges empirical research and public sector decision making. Apart from her academic work, Sophia enjoys traveling and cycling.
