Isabella Shorr is a rising junior at The Ohio State University. She is double majoring in both Environmental Policy and Philosophy, Politics, Economics. Her academic interests center around international climate change policy, environmental justice, and habitat restoration/protection through policy. Over the summer, she spent time at Ohio State’s Stone Laboratory in Lake Erie; where she studied algae blooms and their affects on both people and wildlife.
Bella’s interest in environmental policy stems from her desire to advocate for the wellbeing of the environment and all life within it. This, combined with her commitment to uplift marginalized and overlooked communities, has shaped her interests into what they are today.
In addition to her role as an Environmental Policy fellow at ACE, Bella is currently involved in a social determinates of health research project. Through this project, she studies factors that determine a person’s health and how local policies affects those factors. She is also organizing student environmental preservation efforts at the local Big Darby Creek in collaboration with The Nature Conservancy in Central Ohio.
Outside of school, Bella enjoys gardening, watching movies with her friends, and playing guitar.
