Christina Qiao is a recent graduate of New York University with a B.A. in International Relations and a minor in French. She will begin her Ed.M. in Education Policy and Analysis at the Harvard Graduate School of Education this fall. Her academic and professional interests focus on public policy, comparative governance, educational equity, and how global and comparative perspectives can inform more inclusive education systems.
Christina’s experiences have shaped her interest in how education policy can expand opportunities for marginalized learners across different social and institutional contexts. Through policy research, strategic communications, media, and nonprofit work, she has examined how governments and organizations respond to inequality, as well as how broad policy goals translate into real outcomes for communities. At a global advisory and advocacy firm, she analyzed regulatory and political developments across sectors, strengthening her ability to connect policy environments with their practical implications for stakeholders. In a government policy office in China, she researched education legislation, reform initiatives, and comparative policy frameworks, deepening her interest in how education systems address unequal access to resources. Her previous research has explored how gaps in teacher quality, infrastructure, and learning resources shape the long-term opportunities of rural, migrant, and otherwise underserved students.
Beyond her professional and academic work, Christina enjoys learning languages and spending time with her dogs.
