Camila is an undergraduate student at Barnard College of Columbia University, studying English and pursuing a secondary ELA teaching certification. She is passionate about the intersection of immigration and education, with a focus on addressing inequities in K–12 education that impact immigrant communities. In the past, she has conducted her own research supported by the Laidlaw Foundation, which was published in Taylor & Francis’ F1000Research platform. Beyond her research and policy work, she is deeply passionate about creative writing and the power of literature to amplify marginalized voices and serve as a form of resistance.
