Zeb Burton is a Senior Economics student at the University of Vermont with interests in economic forecasting, econometrics, and economic policy.
Through his coursework at UVM, he has developed experience in econometrics and statistical analysis using Stata. He recently completed a one-year-ahead forecast of a FRED data series (MSPUS), applying model selection techniques and diagnostic testing to evaluate performance.
Zeb previously worked as a Risk Management Administrative Assistant at the University of Vermont, where he managed the International Travel Database and maintained large datasets in Excel. He has also worked as a Volunteer Income Tax Assistant, where he prepared complex tax forms and explained their details to clients in a clear and accessible manner.
This summer, Zeb will be joining the Alliance for Civic Engagement as a Research Associate in Economic Policy. His interest in quantitative economics has drawn him toward policy research. He looks forward to working with a team of policy fellows to provide feedback that helps produce clear and accessible policy briefs for the general public.
Outside of academics and professional work, Zeb enjoys playing basketball, flag football, and ultimate frisbee, and values spending time outdoors in Vermont.
