John Vorgitch, Michigan State University

ohn M. Vorgitch Jr. is a Junior studying Criminal Justice and Political Science at Michigan State University. From the Metropolitan Detroit area, and raised by two police officers, John has always been intrigued by the Criminal Justice work-force. John has a growing background in Criminal Justice experience, including, The Detroit Mayoral Fellowship (2022) serving the Detroit Police Departments in the units of Homicide, Crime Intelligence, and Precinct #9 Ceasefire. Being supervised by Chief James White and unit mentors on high-impact experiences, John worked to improve the quality of life for Detroits 673,000 residents. John worked with “Project Greenlight,” and ShotSpotter in the 8th and 9th Precinct out of Detroit Police Headquarters, as well as on-scene homicide investigations. He has also worked on Criminal Justice related research projects focused on Cybersecurity (2023) and Law School Dean outreach programs (2022). Currently, John is working at the Michigan State University Police Department as a Police Cadet, monitoring and protecting campus-wide fire and intrusion alarm systems, protecting 5 billion dollars of university and student assets, and maintaining assistance to patrol officers using a police radio and memorization of 47 active police 10-codes. John has the intention of working for the Detroit Police Department after graduation before focusing on joining the Federal Bureau of Intelligence (FBI) on high-profile business crimes and internal investigations. John is extremely excited to work with ACE this spring, he looks forward to working with Criminal Justice Policy on a national focus!
