Alexandria (she/her/hers) was born in Vietnam and immigrated to St. Louis when she was 14 years old in 2016. She is currently a first year at Harvard College, majoring in History and Literature with a minor in either Ethnicity, Migration, and Rights or Educational Studies. When not spending all her free time plotting out story ideas and making Spotify playlists, Alexandria mentors QuestBridge and low-income students with the college application process and works as a virtual tour guide for Harvard Visitor Center. She is passionate about immigration, criminal (in)justice, human rights, Southeast Asian history, and the X-men (not the movies though!)Arriving as an immigrant just as the rise in xenophobia and anti-immigration sentiment in the US gains mainstream attention, the country’s immigration policies have always been on her mind. After being more involved in community advocacy in her first year of college, where she helps with various campaigns to advocate on behalf of community members who face the threats of detainment and deportation from ICE, she is committed to push for a change in the country’s current immigration process, which has mistreated refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrants for centuries. She hopes to see ICE abolished some time soon in the future. Alexandria joined ACE with the goal to increase more educational opportunities, resources, and transparency regarding the immigration policies in the United States and is excited to be a part of a community of civically-engaged and like-minded peers.
