Natalie Boettle,  Barnard College of Columbia University

Natalie Boettle is an undergraduate student at Barnard College of Columbia University studying Sociology. Born and raised in New York City, she is passionate about how people engage with urban landscapes, particularly as manifested in housing and transportation policy. In Spring 2025, Natalie conducted qualitative research in collaboration with the Municipality of Copenhagen, examining sustainable transportation and urban planning as part of the city’s broader environmental transition. This summer, she is working with the Housing Rights Initiative, advocating for equitable and affordable housing by addressing discrimination and uncovering fraud in low-income housing programs. On campus, she has conducted research through the Athena Center for Leadership and supports new students as an orientation leader. Outside of academics, Natalie enjoys discovering new restaurants, experimenting in the kitchen, and listening to music.
